Question about publication features #6

We had some (japonicus) community curation for WT features. The author stated

"This article shows certain factors, such as cAMP level, temperature which can influence hyphal growth of S.japonicus. It can be attached to hyphal growth, mycelial growth keywords."

At present we don't make any use of the keywords associated with an article, because our search is gene-list-based rather than publication based, (I.e. you cannot retrieve a list of publications for a given keyword)although we have discussed I the past enabling something like this. Is this something Intermine can provide?

We have all of the relevant publications (with associated metadata loaded) into Chado (although @kimrutherford would need to confirm if keywords are loaded, I guess these could be added if not?)

Hi Val,

I think this should be very possible through intermine. We would just need to create a collection of keywords attached to publications - in a similar way to the way we model mesh terms probably. Then you could just create a query to search for keywords and save a list publications from the results.

You can also just query keywords through the keyword search and it categorises results depending on the class they are in - you can then create tables and lists from this,

(I can show you in the next meeting!).

Rachel.
