We present to you a scrape of Russian State Library, per August 2022: https://archive.org/details/rgb1.mrc.mrc It includes many links to publicly available documents. We hope you can import this. This is all data that is in the public domain.

@mechanical-rus528 because rights & policies may work differently in different countries, it would be helpful if we could get a 👍 from the library before an import is attempted. Assuming there's expressed permission to use this data, we're happy to facilitate the process by sharing instruction.

@mekarpeles Apologies for the late response. I tried contacting them, but the email addresses on their websites bounce. Feel free to try yourself also. My recommendation would be to ask forgiveness instead of permission in this case, though I understand if you have to tread more carefully given recent developments.

@mechanical-rus528 ideally, we'd be able to get to a place where the community can load data into the public catalog, I think I'd rather talk about what is necessary to unblock general imports so staff is not blocking on every decision
