Unbound, Knot, PowerDNS and BIND will, in a coordinated effort, cleanup the source code of their software that works around EDNS-issues as of 1 February 2019. They will no longer support name servers that aren't standards (RFC6891) compliant.
Is it worth while to add an EDNS compliance check to internet.nl ? Similar to https://ednscomp.isc.org/ ? Or not?
Some thoughts / questions?
Is this a large or small problem? How many domains are misbehaving?
What happens if a domain is not compliant and a user is using the latest resolver software?
Is it testable? And if so, how hard is it to implement?
How could we display the test result in a useful manner?
