Online files edit #2

Goal: edit file seamlessly. Workflow:

  1. Click link/button on a webpage
  2. Word/excel/etc. opens with a document
  3. User edits the document.
  4. User clicks save button.
  5. Document is saved.

Currently availabe:

<a href="ms-word:ofe|u|http://host/2/1.docx">RW windows</a><br>
<a href="dav://host/2/1.docx">RW linux</a><br>

To edit on linux, you need to register dav protocol in firefox (and also possibly connect to the webdav server - seems to differ between OS). See readme for how-to.

How to open webdav docx in word in max for edit? Tried from cmd open -b com.microsoft.Word http://37.139.9.166:57774/2/1.docx

LibreOffice (Windows, Linux)can open and edit links like this: http://host/path/file.docx How do we make browser open http links in LibreOffice

Tried to use ajax webdav library. https://webdav.greyder.space/csp/webdav/ajax.csp

Works on Windows, Linux (after package install), doesn't seem to work on Mac
