Issue with Adding InterSystems Classroom Training Badge to InterSystems Developer Community Profile #842

Closed intentionnel closed 1 year ago

Hello,

My name is Ash Sherzhanov, and I am reaching out to report a problem I am currently experiencing with adding my InterSystems Classroom Training badges to my profile on the InterSystems Developer Community.

Recently, I received an email from Emily Geary, who is a Certification Operations Specialist at InterSystems. In her email, she stated that we could add digital badges for the completed training to our profile. These badges are being issued through Credly.

I have recently received a badge for a completed training, which can be found at the following URL: https://www.credly.com/badges/79fd6f09-83f4-4cea-b29e-214d6284f38e/public_url.

However, I am encountering issues when I attempt to add this badge to my Developer Community profile. Specifically, when I try to load the badge, nothing appears on my profile. I have tried different browsers but the problem persists.

I would appreciate any help or guidance on how to resolve this issue.

Looking forward to your prompt response and solution to this issue.

Regards, Ash

Hello! Do you use the same email address for login to community and credly?

If not, you should add your community email into credly. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you are sure that you have up-to-date InterSystems certification(s), but your Credly account is registered to another email, follow the instructions below to add it to your profile.

  1. Go to the Credly website and sign in to your profile:

  2. Switch to the Settings tab at the top of the page:

  3. In the Account menu, there is a list of linked email addresses. To add a new one, click “Add an email address”:

  4. Insert the email that you use to log in to the InterSystems Developer Community and click “Add”:

  5. Credly will send an email to verify the address you just added:

  6. Confirm the added email, and you will no longer see the red “!” sign in front of it. After this, you can click “Load my certifications” again, and all your certifications will be fetched here.

Done all these steps, but still have the same issue. Will check it again tomorrow.

We will check how is Credly api working, maybe the problem is on that side, or they need some time to get the data fetched

Hi Lena,

I'm still unable to load it. When I click on this link "Load my certification(s)" it doesn't load my badge. However, by viewing the page by using this link: More about InterSystems certification. Screenshot 2023-07-27 at 14 59 21 If I click on the link "Available Certification Badges," I can see a list of certification badges, and I see that my badge is included in that list. Hi Ash, The way we get certification is that we fetch them individually for each user by request (button get my certificates) Unfortunately we can’t get them automatically and in a bulk for all the members as Credly api doesn’t let doing so. As we can see our part works now but credly doesn’t provide us instant information. So I assume there is a delay from their end that was not clearly stated in their api documentation. Don’t worry, we will fetch your certificate asap.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. If there are any additional steps or information required from my end, please don't hesitate to inform me, and I will be more than happy to provide it promptly. Regards, Ash

Hi Ash! The issue is found. Our system is taking only certification badges from the Credly - an expiring badge of proving your knowledge of InterSystems technologies. And the badge that you have on Credly doesn't have certification sign, that is why it is not shown on DC.

So we are fetching only these certification badges: https://www.credly.com/organizations/intersystems-certification/collections/certification/badge_templates

If the company decides to add all other possible badges we will add them to DC as well.
