Hi!
As I already mentioned, the hang at start is fixed for me with the latest betas
(Thanks again!).
But after a few minutes, my Wii hangs. This happens when I am watching Videos
(from
DVD or SD card) or don't do anything but wait in the menu. As the Wiimote isn't
used
during watching/waiting, it disconnects and can't reconnect to the Wii.
I thought it may be related to Wiiconnect24, but it also happens with
Wiiconnect24
disabled. Any ideas how to debug it further?

Hi
my wii is 4.2E and has a LEF serial
i tried the 0.76 and stuck on loading
but with a usb attached it could load however i couldn't read dvd
i added ios202 and it couldn't load at all even with a usb so i removed it with
any
title deleter
and then tried update from comment 48 also before removing the ios and had the
same
result. but without ios it loads without the need of a usb but still has the
dvd read
problem.
this is my experience so far and i am starting to believe that it has something
to do
with my wii console.
any other suggestions i would like to hear
thanks and keep up the good work

I had this same issue. Latest beta works for me.
Using Menu System 4.2. I did not try and do not have installed cIOS202. Tried
with/without nunchuck and MPlayer CE 0.76 would still not load.
Latest beta downloaded just now from IRC topic works well. I only did a quick
test
(since this is the first time I've used MPlayer CE). DVD playback works. SMB
works
with video/mp3s etc.

deleting ios202 fixed the problem...loads now...just did a quick test. Before
0.76
would freeze on loading screen. Tested latest beta and got the same results.
Then
deleted ios202 and mplayer now loads fine.

I have been having the same issue with MPlayer not starting; I tried the latest
beta
from post 48 and then the newest from IRC channel (v0.761 b1 06/01). I did
install
(I think successfully) cIOS202. I am on 4.2U. I've tried to reinstall cIOS202,
but
now going to the hermes installer goes to a frozen BootMii screen; the USB test
also
gives me a black screen of death. I have a brand new USB drive and made the
first
partition FAT32. I'm not sure how you delete cIOS202 as some have suggested
(although doesn't it require it to work in the first place?). Any ideas? Thanks!

The .76 hangs at startup, but i just tried .75 with the disc out (New Super
Mario
backup) and it started without a problem and i can load from SMB too without
hiccups.
I gonna download again the .76 to try without the disc to see if it runs ok.

I didn't saw a edit function sorry if there is one. I tried the .76 again and
didn't
load but the last beta that was posted here #48 worked fine it loaded and i
went and
opened smb at the first try it didn't load but then it did fine i saw a couple
of
mins of a show and everythings great.

This may sound nutty, but even a USB wireless keyboard receiver works! I have
system
4.2, dvdx v2 installed via hbc installer, and mplayer ce 0.76 (no beta), no
cIOS or
any additional softmodding besides HBC/DVDx. Program only loads
when I have either usb drive or wireless keyboard receiver plugged in. Keyboard
is a
Dell OEM that came packaged with a desktop PC. I use it mainly for Wii Internet
Browser. DVDs play (originals and copies), as do radio stations and video files,
although at times radio streams would unexpectedly hang the wii after playing
for
several minutes. (as a side note, "dead" radio streams cause BSOD).

I originally had only minor freeze problems with 0.76 - just a very occasional
freeze
in the mplayer menus (usually when selecting "Open" in the main menu, or "File"
in
the Open menu).
Then, after I had had my Wii unplgged for a weekend, I found that it froze
completely
during startup of mplayer, at the "Loading Mplayer CE 0.76" black screen. This
happened every single time, and the only thing that could be done was either a
power-off, or a push-and-hold of the power button to reset the Wii.
After finding this thread, I had a hunch. After my weekend away, I had
re-plugged my
Rock Band 1 drumkit in to the left-hand USB socket (as you look at the back
panel).
I un-plugged it, and reconnected it to the right-hand USB socket (where, I'm
pretty
sure, it had been connected originally). With that change made, Mplayer 0.76
started
up without any problems.
