0.76 hangs at "Loading ...." if launched while nunchuck is attached.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hook up Nunchuck controller
2. Launch MPlayer CE from Homebrew Channel
3. Notice how it hangs at startup.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to get to the MPlayer CE main menu.  Instead I get hung at 
"Loading MPlayerCE v.0.76 ...."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I noticed this behavior in 0.75 and 0.76 (English editions).  My System 
menu is 4.0U and is heavily softmodded.  I'm running cIOS r14

Do you have a modchip?
No, but I'm heavily softmodded.  I used to following procedure:

but did not proceed with all the DOP-IOS suggestions at the end.
Specifically, I have patched: IOS36, IOS60, with cIOS_38_rev14 installed in 
slot IOS249.  I also have BootMii installed as an IOS.

Please provide any additional information below.
Loading from Nunchuck doesn't have any issues on 0.72.  Also 0.75 will 
*sometimes* load by nunchuck but then the whole screen seems to drift off 
to the corner or fold away to the side.

As soon as I load with just the WiiMote, no nunchuck, everything works 
fine.
