What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download and attempt to install .apk file

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see "Application Install Successful". Instead, I see
"Application Install Unsuccessful" with no further information.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Build 081205, Android 30 on real T-Mobile G1

Please provide any additional information below.

Check if you have enabled Settings->Applications->Unknown sources

Alas, that option is, indeed, enabled and has been since the first day I had the
phone. The original version of this application installed and worked properly
(up to
its limits, of course) and no settings have been changed since. When I
installed
build 081205, it uninstalled the original build and, now, the Application
Manager
reports that no version of the VNC viewer is installed. I rebooted the phone
and
still cannot successfully install build 081205.

If you did not uninstall the old version before trying to install 081205, I
found the
only way to get it to install is to factory default your phone and reinstall it
(unless you have root to remove all traces of previous version. I'm a poor
RC30 soul
myself)

This version is so significantly different that it was not "upgrade compatible"
so-to-say, but on a fresh data partition I was able to get it to install via ADB
Install and from the Browser as well.

Dear Sheetis,

When I installed 081205, I was informed that it would replace the old version
so, of
course, I took it at face value. Can you think of any way that I could figure
out
what needs to be cleared, assuming I can find a new root hack or something? For
obvious reasons, I hesitate to reset my phone. There must be some way to do
this!
Thanks in advance...

I reinstalled the previous version. Uninstalled it properly via the Manage
Applications menu and then installed this new build.

Install Successful.
