The description of the Rendering settings infers that these options don't affect the actual data saved in the database. For example, setting a maximum range of 3 meters won't limit the actual depth saved in the database (which is unlimited). This is not true for the Depth Confidence, as if we change it, it also affects the saved depth image in the database. See this post for more context.
