Interaction of ZAP and Firefox Hackbar #25

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
ZAP should be capable of interacting with Firefox's Hackbar
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3899/).

E.g. send requests from ZAPs history to Hackbar

How difficult is it to interact with firefox's plugins programmaticly through
java though?

I like the idea, I'm just not sure how feasible it is. I haven't done any
programming with firefox extensions though, so this /could/ be very much
possible and easy enough to implement.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't know for sure if this is possible. But i know that Acunetix has a
Firefox extentsion that interacts with the scanner...

With a little luck we will have this feature integrated within the next release
as i am highly interested in making this work ;)

I also really like the idea of interacting with firefox.
An extension could do things like:
  Show the alert counts (more useful with the passive vuln scanning coming soon)
  Allow you to set break/trap points from firefox
  Allow you to add notes from firefox

I'd like an extension that lets you quickly enable and disable the ZAP proxy.

Isn't a proxy switcher the extension you are searching for?

This could be easily achieved by using one of the following
extensions/add-ons...

Firefox:
* FoxyProxy Standard
* Proxy Selector
* MM3 Proxy Switch

Chrome:
* FoxyProxy Standard
* Switch Proxy
* Falcon Proxy

Of course there are more add-ons with the same functionality. Just did a quick
search for the most popular ones.

Cheers,
Axel

I use FoxyProxy Basic all the time for ZAP, Burp, Fiddler.

PnH may address this partially.
