Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Double click on ZAP desktop icon.
2. or run Zap.bat from command line
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- When I double-click on the desktop icon the mouse pointer changes for about 3
seconds and then nothing.

- When I run it at the command line i get...

0 [main] INFO org.zaproxy.zap.ZAP - OWASP ZAP 2.0.0 started.
452 [main] INFO hsqldb.db.HSQLDB379AF3DEBD.ENGINE - dataFileCache open start
452 [main] INFO hsqldb.db.HSQLDB379AF3DEBD.ENGINE - dataFileCache open end
733 [main] INFO org.parosproxy.paros.view.View - Initialising View

...and then a dialog pops ups that says...

"Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working. A problem caused the program
to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available."

Current version of Java is 7u15.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ZAP 2.0.0

Please provide any additional information below.
It seems to be a Java that is crashing but I'm not seeing the behavior in other
Java application I run.

Which version of Windows are you using?
And exactly which version of Java (eg Oracle, OpenJDK, 32 vs 64 bit)?

There is a thread on the dev group which indicates there _may_ be a problem
with 64 bit java:

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I left out some key information, it was a long day.

I'm running Windows 7 and it is Oracle 64-bit

Did you see my comment about the possible problems with 64 bit Java?
Can you try it with the 32 bit one?
I use that on Windows 7 and havnt had any problems with it.

Thanks

I've tried it with 32-bit and 64-bit version of Java installed at the same
time. I need to clean off both versions and install 32-bit by itself and try
again.

Any plans to get ZAP working with 64-bit Java?

I removed the 32-bit version of Java and things began working.
