Series and Series Number Merged by Web Interface #158

Open dubsarGimillu opened 3 years ago

dubsarGimillu commented 3 years ago

When I import the following through the web interface at anystyle.io, and use the "Collection title" label for "Men at Arms 373,"

Brzeinski, Richard / Mielczarek, Mariusz (2002) The Sarmatians 600 BC-AD 450. Men at Arms 373 (Osprey Publishing: Botley)

the Zotero entry has "Series: Men at Arms 373" not "Series: Men at Arms" and "Series Number: 373." I am new to Zotero and BibTex but I think name and number are logically two separate entities. I don't see an appropriate "collection number" label in the web interface.

I think the best approach here is to tag 373 using the 'volume' label.

For citing purposes, there are three fields which might be appropriate: collection-number, volume, or issue -- all of these relate to the cited container or collection. Which one is the correct one is often extremely difficult or impossible to tell without context by looking at the syntax only. It's for this reason that the website only let's you assign a 'volume' label -- we can then add certain rules, i.e., to convert 'volume' to 'collection-numer' if there is a 'collection-title' not a 'container-title'.
