We have large numbers of files on an external S3 service. Re-uploading those files through InvenioRDM would be inefficient. We want to directly attach files in the external system to records in InvenioRDM.

Add a new endpoint in invenio_records_resources that will accept links to files and metadata. It will add file information to the records in InvenioRDM
