the altitude alert is triggered when it shouldn't be

Steps to reproduce

be at cruize level in prof mode dial fcp below crz alt before T/D observe altitude alert despite prof suggesting maintaining crz level

Expected behaviour

no altitude alert should be played in the above scenerio

The way the FCOM read to me was that the FCP altitude is the value it compares to for reference. Does it use the logical value from PROF as the target?

what I read is indicated altitude moves away from the selected altitude not the opposite, I also have seen reference of pilots dialing down the FCP and no altitude alert plays
