/S350 works for me (but only if 350 is part of the FL on the init page)
/S350 works for me (but only if 350 is part of the FL on the init page)
I tried that today... couldn't make it work.
UPDATE It doesn't work in cruise, but works on ground. Don't know if it's intentional.
It does not work for me. Selecting /SFLxxx or /Sxxx does not change the (S/C) it calculated. It only puts in a restriction which doesn't even seem to be taken seriously.
They way it works, is you enter if your initial cruise is FL240 and you want to step to FL300, you would enter /SFL240 or S240 at the Waypoint of choice, so that the FMC knows where you want to step away from FL240, to your next altitude. OR If you enter in for example /SFL300 or /S300 at a waypoint, then you are telling the FMC you want to step climb but reach that waypoint at the Step altitude. So it will calculate when to Step in order to reach the waypoint at FL300.
Also, you should see the SFLxxx as a restriction. It should read out at SFL240 for example and will be inserted as "SFL240" in the "AT" Insertion on the LAT REV Page 1.
Describe the bug
Constraining waypoint with a flight level not working
Steps to reproduce
So my steps where
FL STEPS YSSY/0310/PUPEX/0330/CUFFY/0350/CROBY/0370
I loaded the flightplan from the EFB to the FMC, then i placed all the step clips in crz levels in init page, then i took off and started the cruise.
During the cruise somenone told me that was possible to use some sort of auto step climb and told me that the correct way is to put one of the crz levels as /SFLXXX in any waypoint, but i always received not allowed when i try to put it in RSLK.
Expected behaviour
The FMS has the capability to constrain the aircraft to an altitude at a waypoint in cruise. The format is /SFLXXX which is entered on the right side of the ACT F-PLN page adjacent to the desired constraining waypoint with a flight level of XXX. The flight level must be equal to one of the flight levels on the F-PLN INIT page. This capability applies primarily in step climb between flight levels defined in the FMS. Once the aircraft sequences the waypoint which has the constraining altitude and sequences the step climb point for that altitude, a vertical alert will be provided and the aircraft will begin to climb provided the FCP altitude has been raised to the new cruise flight level.
