Here's the issue with this - especially with the auto-file feature, we need a way to reliably know when the flight is over. smartCARS 2 based flight completion solely on having made a complete stop, which does NOT necessarily mean the flight is over. smartCARS 2 had it wrong and we corrected it with 3.
We anticipated that the majority of smartCARS flights will end with an engine shutdown, as do most real flights. Are you skipping that process to save time? If we can understand where the need for this change comes from, perhaps we can find a better solution.
we are based on airplane hops so we could be doing like during cessna Sundays we have 35 to 40 pilots flying and 50% are flying using our smartcars with a pre-file flight plan that they have generated all in the smartcars so maybe instead of having the airplane shut down you could have it so you could pick select brake to end flight or engine shut down
Hey, we've been deliberating and we believe we understand the use case you're having. We assume that if you're doing Cessna hops, you're also doing stopovers where you also keep the avionics (and hence the engine) running.
We are going to update flight tracking (no guarantee as to when exactly though) to add the "Finish Flight" button when you're in the taxi-to-gate phase. When a full stop is achieved (like smartCARS 2), you are able to manually finish the flight and an auto file is possible if the engines are turned off (like current behaviour).
This is great news Thanks so much I will be glad to give out this new SmartCARS 3 program to the guys again thanks so much looking forward to when this is updated and understand it may be on the to-do list
Thanks from Pizza

Hope you guys had a great Holiday and a Happy New Year I was wondering if anything has been updated on the no-engine shutdown when landing with smartcars 3 like we talked about before>?
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
using SmartCars 3 at the end of each flight you have to come to a complete stop and shut down your airplane in order to be able to file your Smartcars 3 pilot report, this was not an issue with smartcars 2
Describe the solution you'd like
make it so you do not have to shut down your aircraft in order to file your flight pirep
Describe alternatives you've considered
maybe have it so you have to set your park brake instead of turning off your aircraft
Additional context
thanks, for your time I hope this will be a fix in the near future so our pilots with EasternHops will enjoy the new smartcars and perhaps they will take the advantage of the pro version
