Hi there! This is a cloud-based system. If your network is unreliable, you will get errors like this.

Your app needs to handle them.

I have a generic network error message I show users in this case that says effectively "Please verify your network is okay and try again later"

Managing offline/online status and whether your queries prefer cache or fallback etc is all up to the application. I'm not sure there is anything actionable for the react-native-firebase module here.

@mikehardy hey! i am also showing generic error message if device is offline. but this crash is occurring when the network speed is slow(so my device is still online and my error message didn't appeared). Please let me know if i'm doing something wrong or any workaround to avoid this?

The error is 'firestore/unknown' when you have this problem, I would guess that slow networks are thus effectively equivalent to being offline and you should show the same message, or be quite aggressive about your online vs offline vs slow status and how you handle offline modes

I show the generic network message when I receive this error
