When i try to start the project with npx react-native run-android, i get the following error message: Execution failed for task ':react-native-firebase_messaging:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'.
but you don't post the actual message so I'm not sure.
android studio runs jdk11 now and with targetSdk 31 or even compileSdk 31 that has known issues. You may be using jdk8 via command line while android studio is using jdk11 internally
This is not a module problem though, so I will close this. Better on stackoverflow if you can't resolve
sorry to be brief trying to answer as quickly as possible while doing other things but hopefully the jdk11 resolves you, examine PATH carefully if it does not seem to at first.

Issue
I installed Cloud Messaging via npm install --save @react-native-firebase/messaging@12.9.3 When i try to start the project with npx react-native run-android, i get the following error message: Execution failed for task ':react-native-firebase_messaging:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'. In Android Studio i can start the project and it works perfectly.
