Issue

I am trying to check if my app is launched in the background on IOS via setBackgroundMessageHandler on the very root file index.js since I don't want to mess with my launchProperties therefore not making any changes in the AppDelegate.m file and not injecting isHeadless prop, but getting the following error:

TypeError: this.native.getIsHeadless is not a function

This error is located at:

    "@react-native-firebase/analytics": "^12.1.0",
    "@react-native-firebase/app": "^12.1.0",
    "@react-native-firebase/auth": "^12.1.0",
    "@react-native-firebase/crashlytics": "^12.1.0",
    "@react-native-firebase/messaging": "^12.1.0",

Please use current stable versions when troubleshooting, and definitely prior to opening an issue, you never know if we've already fixed something...

That said, this appears to have been added long before old version you are using: https://github.com/invertase/react-native-firebase/commit/8a4e9a5259fd89885f3f5e825328899476e9e3ee

So, then typically when I see an error that means (in English): "You have used a method in javascript that we can't find on the native side", I think, you probably have not integrated or built native correctly somehow.

Maybe npx react-native-clean-project followed by a rebuild will help? The method exists on native though, this error should not be happening in a clean + fresh environment

fariskhan563 commented 2 years ago

I tried cleaning and rebuilding the app but still the issue persists on Android, however it's working fine on IOS for which exactly it was needed since on Android a Headless JS task is created and runs separately.

I now have made the check entirely IOS platform specific where it's serving its purpose so all good.
