[🔥 ][🐛] onNotificationOpenedApp is not firing #6447

Closed CDBridger closed 1 year ago

CDBridger commented 2 years ago

Issue

onNotificationOpenedApp is not firing in android (it is on ios). No, i'm not using splash screen library. There was another issue but it was closed by the author because the bug was resolved for them by updating react native. I had bug on RN 0.68.2 and have updated to 0.69.3 and still get it.

    const handleNotifications = async (): Promise<NotificationResult> => {
        const result = await checkApplicationPermission();
        if (result) {
            console.log('SUBSCRBING TO FCM MESSAGES');
            console.log(`token: ${await messaging().getToken()}`);
            const unsubscribeOnMessage = messaging().onMessage(onMessageReceived);

            const unsubscribeOnOpened = messaging().onNotificationOpenedApp(remoteMessage => {
                console.log('Notification caused app to open from background state:', JSON.stringify(remoteMessage));
                if (remoteMessage.data?.url) {
                    handleLink(remoteMessage.data?.url);
                }
            });

            messaging().subscribeToTopic('generic');
            return {
                success: true,
                handlers: [unsubscribeOnMessage, unsubscribeOnOpened, () => messaging().unsubscribeFromTopic('generic')]
            };
        }
        return {
            success: false,
            handlers: []
        };
    };
