Alternatively, could we have an option to see each time a client has viewed an invoice? Clients often view invoices multiple times, not just once. Other software such as QuickBooks lets you see each time a client has viewed an invoice.

I agree that this would also be useful.
Would be beneficial to include this for all aspects of "User Viewed" statuses. I at least once or twice "view" something as a client while I'm accessing the client portal on their behalf.
Running into this too. What exacerbates the problem is that chat apps follow links in order to generate a preview, so my invoice gets set as viewed immediately, causing me to lose insight into whether it has actually been viewed.
Would love this feature as well.
Also seems that if you view an invoice as admin (via Client Portal), it gets marked as viewed. And any subsequent view is no longer being notified on.
Would really like to be able to remove the viewed flag.

As a feature suggestion, it would be good to be able to mark an invoice as "Un-viewed" again and then have the viewed receipt be triggerable as viewed again.
For example, if a client views an invoice but then you make some changes and advise them and want to know if they have viewed it again, you may want to remove the viewed flag for the invoice. This way, when they view it a second time, it will be flagged with viewed again.
Or in my instance, sometimes to make sure the client portal is working, I go ahead and access the client portal as a client and accidentally view an invoice while browsing around which causes it to be marked as viewed and I have no way to undo this.
