I think adding a button on the raster layer for uploading images would be a relatively convenient function. Of course, if circumstances permit, directly receiving dragged images by the raster layer would be an even better choice. Now when I need to upload a picture, it seems that I can only drag it in. The picture will be uploaded to the gallery, and then sent from the gallery to the raster layer. This is too cumbersome.
This is planned for a future update. We need to migrate to a different drag-and-drop library to handle this in a sane way, which is probably a fair bit of effort.
