YIO-remote support #354

Currently there is a very cool project around to create a do-it-yourself remote control for all related smart home devices. (see https://www.yio-remote.com/; https://github.com/YIO-Remote) Currently there is work for homey and home assistant to be supported. It would be awesome if also iobroker devices can be controlled via this remote control approach.

Do I see it correctly that there is a C++/QT part that needs to be developed to interact with systems? Then finding a dev will be interesting :-)

In fact ioBroker offers a socket.io interface and also an HTTP interface with which the device could interact

Maybe yio team can help with infos. I asked them on discord and on GitHub

@eviltroooper @Apollon77 is right. For the current Software you need to write a Plugin in Qt to work with the remote.

But the Project is currently developing a new Software that supports V1 and the new Remote two, there you will have a API that can be used to have integrations working with the Remote. I would recommend to wait until this software is ready and put the effort into it then.

Additional Information to avoid confuses: YIO v1 was / is a DIY Project where you can build a Remote based on a Raspberry Pi YIO Remote Two will not be a DIY Project anymore, more to that can be found on the Homepage.

Hope this Inforamtion helps!

Now there is a YIO-Remote V2 on Kickstarter! They said there is a plan to implement it in iobroker. But for now the developers of the V2 only focused on Homeassistand and Open HAB. I hope there are a few interested people from iobroker, who could write an adapter and support the developers on this awesome project.

There are some basic informations available about the api and the websocket on there page.

The kickstarter ends in three days!

YIO has added ioBroker integration to their Roadmap for 2024. Don´t know when they added it, but have seen it a few seconds ago :) https://www.unfoldedcircle.com/software-roadmap
