Highlights

With 50% of the samples analysed we can share the following highlights:

17.5L of water - roughly two buckets, contained: -over 20 million DNA sequences of which 12,500 unique sequences. -194 species could be identified of which 77 species were not previously reported in the Everglades. The Everglades is home to over 2,500 marine species (source UNESCO/Ocean Biodiversity Information System-OBIS). -DNA of the following threatened species: [add list with vernacular name and IUCN status]

-DNA of the following threatened species were not found but can be part of the next 50% of samples.

Just a note, reads is what we get out of the PCR, not what the buckets contained.

ah ok, thanks for clarifying!, then this is not worth the highlight. only 12.500 unique DNA sequences is worth it I guess.

And I thin the last point is very speculative, I would rather focus on actual results.
