At OBIS we currently have two workflows for making marine data from GBIF available (via OBIS/EMODnet or as a data product).
Data providers can tag their datasets as being part of the OBIS network in IPT. An automated workflow picks up these datasets and creates a GitHub issues if they are not already part of OBIS. Datasets are then assigned to OBIS nodes, including EurOBIS, for quality control checks before they are ingested. This workflow is available at https://github.com/iobis/obis-network-datasets.
To make all GBIF marine data available for analysis, even if they are not ingested yet, a data product has been made available combining species occurrence from OBIS and GBIF. This is documented at https://github.com/iobis/speciesgrids.
