Would this be a dataset for OBIS? are these stock assessments linked to actual coordinates?

I suggest asking one of the authors, he use to work a lot with Bob Branton back in the day, he is now with DFO Canada, Gulf region, Mary sent me this email address for him if you'd like to ask him directly: Dan Ricard Daniel.Ricard@dfo-mpo.gc.ca. Per email I sent to yourself and John N. last October, Dan is the one I mentioned used OBIS data for presentation at ICES 2008 in Halifax and published https://academic.oup.com/icesjms/article/67/4/638/680186

I think that this looks promising. As suggested, we should speak with Dan first and see how this can be developed. I am happy to address this with him.

I am also interested in the historical side of this data. I see that some of the data series goes back to about 1900.

My engagement with ICES is primarily from the historical perspective - OPI is involved with the WGHIST (Working Group History) of ICES and I am working towards getting their data into DwC format. This would open the door for all ICES data to be incorporated into OBIS - wouldn't that be great?

Hoping the new OBIS Canada Node Manager, Maria Cornthwaite, will be included in any correspondence since she is based at DFO and may not be following this Github repo and so may not see this conversation.

Dan was a student (masters/phd) of RAM's when he passed, was at Dalhousie.

OBIS Canada has slack and github...maybe we can post/link to something there?
