I have added a link to the flags documentation on the data access page as well as on the page listing the flags for a particular dataset, and I have added a link to the OpenStreetMap land polygons which we are using for the ON_LAND
flag.
Perfect! thank you so much!!
Sorry, I appreciate that the quality flag is linked and documented, but I am reopening this issue because I am wondering whether we can improve the way the information is conveyed.
How can we let keep the users informed that the said data points are actually in water (as verified by data provider) even though they have been flagged "on_land"?
I'm open to suggestions, including a renaming of the flag. This flag is not intended to be a definitive answer to the question if a record is located on land, it's meant to be an indicator of potential coordinate issues.
Hello,
I received a remark from OBIS CPPS node for the following:
Dataset: https://obis.org/dataset/f5828e31-2039-413c-aac9-59266865ac84
Two data points which are identify with ON_LAND, have been verified and these are in water (inlet in the estuary).
Maybe we need to clarify the definition of "on_land" somewhere in the documentation if it is not mentioned yet? Thank you so much!
