Should we be linking to centralised indexes like re3data.org and catalogue.odis.org as part of this recommendation?
And can we have a conversation about what "official" might mean in this context? For large clean data types, GDACs are easily recognised as authoritative sources of the current state of the data. For data/science communities that are still evolving, the data infrastructure will necessarily be more messy and fluid.
