Verify OceanScape records #417

Open pbuttigieg opened 2 months ago

pbuttigieg commented 2 months ago

@jmckenna - Sophie (POGO) asked if we can validate that oceanscape records are being harvested correctly.

She noted the "description" property is something they're looking for in OIH but

The JSON-LD in OIH is here.

Can we verify

pbuttigieg commented 2 months ago

I see they don't have an ODISCat link to their sitemap

Oceanscape (ODIS id 1098)

The JSON is embedded in their pages https://validator.schema.org/#url=https%3A%2F%2Foceanscape.org%2Forganisation%2Fpartnership-for-observation-of-the-global-oceans%2F

but there's no description field that I see

At the previous meetings I suggested that they add Description etc, to enhance the results in the OIH search. I had added "Knows About" (and a few other properties for type Project) to the front-end search results (on 2023-09-22) specifically so that OceanScape records look a little better in the results. Good point about the ODISCat entry, I'll email Sophie now to ask to add the sitemap url.

Regarding your question about harvesting properties: this really becomes a front-end (oih-ui repository) issue. As I mentioned, I had exposed "Knows About" earlier in the front-end, but, with the new front-end coming soon, it would be good to re-examine what properties are being exposed, for each type, in the oih-ui.
