Hi @MathewBiddle not sure if this is real or not, but when I view the file in full, GH prompts about a YAML character issue with the team alias at the beginning of the field/description, I believe.

I think we should note that we can't grant role access above the Maintainer level here (ie no Admin access allowed).

Another concern might be that only IOOS Org members will be able to see or know about the teams since GH blocks them from public view, but I think it's ok the way you have it that they can provide username handles instead.

We might want to add a note that we reserve the right to adjust the permissions/access list in situations where an existing IOOS GH team can be used for access management for simplicity sake.

yeah the @ broke yaml. I added a note and called out no Admin access.
