[Project Proposal]: IOOS RA query/utility package #35

Project Description

Write a draft API, or package, that would leverage the many Regional Associations (RAs) ERDDAP servers to perform a higher level search by RA.

Expected Outcomes

The goal would be to start a package that would allow for RA based browsing and filtering of the datasets.

Skills required

Basic Python, some ERDDAP knowledge, xarray/pandas API familiarity.

@ocefpaf can this combine with https://github.com/ioos/ioos-code-sprint/issues/39#issuecomment-2038089990 ? If so, please work with @iwensu0313 to ensure this is addressed.

Maybe we should abandon this one for now. I would like to focus on #40 during the sprint.
