Catalog Homepage Updates #256

  1. Move live Services and Datasets stats to Catalog Map thumbnail
  2. Rename 'Catalog Dashboard' to 'Catalog Inventory'
  3. Move 'Catalog Dashboard' thumbnail to 'Featured Maps' position
  4. Move 'Gliders' thumbnail up to previous 'Catalog Dashboard' position
  5. Move 'Features Maps' thumbnail to previous 'Gliders' position
  6. Update 'IOOS by the Numbers' thumbnail to reflect actual page
  7. Work on better page sizing for various screen sizes

I'll deal with 7 in the other issue, it's fairly more in-depth.

I rearranged as you specified. I redid the map icon because:

I redid the BTN icon so that the boarder is better defined and the color map is in-line with the rest of the colors used.

The bathymetric earth image are from a public-domain NASA high-res stock image. (neutral and it fits)

I also reversed the wave. The original wave was extremely and deliberately well placed to draw attention to the right places. Now in that lower right corner the curves throw the eyes away from content so flipping it tries to keep the eyes focused on content.
