RA summary pages #26

Something showing a dashboard style view of All RAs and each individual RAs. Large number showing the basics:

Would be great to have a chord diagram or hive plot showing a visual relationship between Services and Datasets, interactively filtering on RAs, Service Types, and Dataset Asset Types.

Links from these dashboard style pages would get into the drill-down specifics that already exist like the service/dataset summary pages.

Include links back to the RA data portal from this summary page. ra.org/data

emiliom commented 10 years ago

What do you mean by "RA data portal"? Is it the RA's user-friendly application for discovering, browsing and accessing data (eg, NANOOS' NVS, PacIOOS' Voyager, etc)? Or a web page describing the RA's DMAC/data efforts and linking to its relevant applications, data services, etc?

kknee commented 10 years ago

Exactly - a link back to NVS or maybe specifically the explorer, the GLOS Data Portal, etc.

emiliom commented 10 years ago

Good. Thanks for the clarification.

Re-categorize pages to "Regional Associations" and "National Partners"

kknee commented 10 years ago

@daf @dpsnowden Let's send out link to RAs and Partners for comment before going live.

daf commented 10 years ago

Considering making a staging.catalog.ioos.us parallel deployment for features like this.

dpsnowden commented 10 years ago

Does the publication of the RA summary pages require staging? Or can these go live sooner? I'm looking to close out 3.0 if possible.

daf commented 10 years ago

No, it doesn't require staging. Will have to do the recategorization and update the logos for the national partners (I believe you have shared with Kelly) before pushing, but can merge/deploy after that.

kknee commented 10 years ago

@benjwadams, the logos could use some resizing: e.g. http://catalog.ioos.us/providers/NAVY

daf commented 10 years ago

I will add a CSS max-height rule so no source images need to be resized (they may be useful in other places eventually)
