Requirements:

The pump interface should have:

[x] on and off method
[ ] the on method shall ramp up duty cycle to prevent sudden current draw and board overheating
[x] max duty cycle for pump-on shall be 30
[x] drive frequency shall be 50
[ ] conditionally run pump based on water level

Notes:

WARNING! assuming running the pump was causing PCB to overheat hence they drive frequency and duty cycle settings.

pump current can be monitored by the PTC2075 with i2c interface with over temperature monitor.

sorry if this doesn't belong here, but does pump current/temp change enough to know when the pump runs dry? would it be possible to generate some kind of notification or stop the pump then? (in case someone forgot to lower the pump back down, or as a second protection level e.g. when the the water level sensor is dirty/damaged).

@bzzbzzz so I havent set up the pump stats yet, but on my list to do and could absolutely be used to stop the pump along with the pcb_temp sensor
