Balance is 0 History is empty #300

Yesterday I bought my first MIOTA. Today I logged in with my seed and my balance reads 0 and my history is empty. This is the long version: I had problems generating a seed with version 2.4.0, so I generated my seed with version 2.2.6. After my seed was generated by the wallet, I uninstalled 2.2.6 and switched back to 2.4.0. After that, everything worked fine that day (September 15th). Through Bitfinex I had 2 transactions to my wallet, 89 Mi in total. Both transactions where confirmed by Bitfinex, and both transactions where received in my wallet. When I opened up my wallet today (still version 2.4.0.) my balance reads 0! By reading some earlier posts I thought maybe it had to do with the seed transition, since I generated mine in 2.2.6. But after following these instructions, this doesn’t seem to be the case. https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/getting-started/guide-transition.html I searched over 600 addresses but my balance of yesterday was not found (I only could find 0). My history is also empty, so I guess they also weren’t stolen. What happened? And how do get my balance back?

Thank you wonkytonky for your suggestion, unfortunately it did not help. I tried all node hosts with the latest version: http://5.9.137.199:14265 http://service.iotasupport.com:14265 http://node.lukaseder.de:14265 https://n1.iota.nu:443 http://iotatoken.nl:14265 And I generated about 15 new addresses on each host. My balance still reads 0. What should I try next?

Yes, according to the tangle explorer, both transactions should still be there. It only shows IN and not OUT.

Is it possible then that I logged in with a typo? If I made a typo with my seed on the first day, I guess it’s impossible to know where I made it with such a complex seed. Any suggestions on how to solve that?

Oh I’m so sad. I tried different typo’s for 4 hours straight, but I didn’t get lucky :’(. As a newbie to IOTA I did not expect it was possible to log in with a seed that was not yet generated. I guess my 89 MIOTA will be lost in the void forever. Lesson learned I guess. Thanks for all the help.

I think you didn't make any typo I think you should try more nodes and attach receive addresses Login and logout on nodes that you tried before and attach new recieve addresses I had this problem too and was successfull with this strategy First it showed a little bit of my real balance and after some more logins and addresses attached it showed the real balance.

whoppacfm I had the same problem and your fix worked for me. I kept changing nodes, logging out and back in, attaching new addresses. By the second node I had half my balance back and I got the rest on the third node.
