Connection Refused #642

Open SawyerReagan opened 6 years ago

SawyerReagan commented 6 years ago

Every node that I try to use when I load my light wallet tells me "connection refused". Some nodes take longer than others. I am worried about getting access to my IOTA and want to transfer them out but have been unable to connect for two days now.

althea16 commented 6 years ago

This is happening for me too. This has been extremely frustrating for two days now and I installed Light Wallet 2.5.4 only three days ago. I sent some iota to the wallet. It was taking a long time so I rebroadcast a few times. Now I cannot login to any node cannot see if the transaction ever completed. Is there any solution for this????

althea16 commented 6 years ago

I was finally able to connect using https://iota.thathost.net:443 but my wallet shows zero balance and no history!!!

bberish commented 6 years ago

@althea16 , That node is outdated and hasn't updated in months (milestones)... I cant login to the wallet with a working node myself, but I was able to login using the node you listed... and my balance was also ZERO.

This is because I transferred funds more recently, and if you did the same, no wonder the funds arent showing up in that node... it will in a recent node

A new wallet will come out later this week, I am told this issue will be fixed.

@bberish Thanks! That is very helpful information. I got that node from the list here: http://iotasupport.com/lightwallet.shtml So, should I only choose from the nodes listed in the Light Wallet? If that's the case then I still have the same problem. I sure do look forward to that new wallet!

bberish commented 6 years ago

When choosing a node, make sure they have the most up to date milestone AKA the highest number on the column to the right of the node address in that link. EX..

http://node01.iotatoken.nl:14265 298012/298012

This higher the number, the most up to date it is...

We just have to play the waiting game for now

althea16 commented 6 years ago

@bberish Thank you! That is more very helpful information! What is the 298012/298012 that you have listed after the actual node address with milestone number? I sure hope that new wallet comes out soon and fixes these issues. It seems that iota cannot survive if users have only this clunky/buggy system to use.

bberish commented 6 years ago

That is the 298012/298012 is the milestone number. So the higher this number, the better

The 14265 is the port address... has nothing to do with the milestone.

Aha. I see. Thanks!

althea16 commented 6 years ago

@bberish Where did you see the news about a wallet coming out later this week?

bberish commented 6 years ago

I heard from someone on Slack.... He also helps out on this site as well. But I really think it might be later than this week.

I think these 4 servers are likely the best available. I used the first one from Germany and so happy now. Found advise from Korneto02 and it worked for me and lots of others who could not log in. I was so stressed out and now feel like a million $$$. Try this and post if it works for you. I think it likely will. hey guys it worked for me go to these site https://iotasalad.org/nodes.... use the nodes there and try all of those, go custom the host and change curl implementation to ccurl...it takes a while like 20-30 minutes says logging in, you just have to wait
