My IOTA has been stuck in limbo for over 24 hours #646

Closed warchest2018 closed 6 years ago

warchest2018 commented 6 years ago

I was trying to send IOTA from my IOTA wallet to Binance exchange, the transaction started but has now gone well over 24 hours and still says unconfirmed. Is there a way to cancel the transaction? My Miotas are still reflecting in my wallet This is the message I am getting on Binance:

Confirming(0/1) 2017-12-04 19:10:59 IOTA 29.9 Address: J9GCH9YCKODCCYWRH9SYTMKM9IGPTBOODHIGLKCEEKFGKKWAOMBOLJVMILR9ZLZYNKX9FMUVPKLRDDR9Y

Here is the transaction on iotosear.ch Tangle Explorer:

https://iotasear.ch/transaction/GMPHILQPCUMTUXVURBUYAUOHXAOB9ARZRTNZHVDOXCYEZHCDSXWPD9GCEWWFIYVQLMMSPE9JOZK9A9999

I submitted this transaction on: 2017-Dec-05 01:06:30 (1 day 14 hrs ago)

Bodie7 commented 6 years ago

I have same problem. Even tangle visualization looks similarly (red). I donť understand where the problem is...confused

warchest2018 commented 6 years ago

I clicked every Tangle NODE available and they all say Confirmed, but my Binance is showing (0/1) confirmations. So Frustrating because I wanted to sell at $5.55

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

Also frustrated that I missed the sell spot. Are the IOTA owners doing this on purpose? They have a complete control over the tangle right now with their validator, and it seems they are just blocking transactions.

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

Ive been trying to send transactions for the last 3 days.. Ever since the volume started to increase, ive had nothing but issues.. Very disappointing in the whole wallet operation...

I have three transactions pending from Bitfinex, all to different wallets all at different times. I never had an issue pry to this insane volume .. Now its been 3 days going on 4 ... Still in processing status.

I recently sent some from one wallet to another. It took two full days to transfer one small 1mi from wallet to wallet !!!!!

I did the basic re attach , tried different nodes and even had different wallets on different computers using different IP. Just to see if I could get a transfer to go through .. ( yes im using CURL)

I run multi wallets BECAUSE I HAVE TO.. I can NOT send more then one transaction out..

Even though Iotas wallet / technology are suppose to be unlimited scaling and FASTER with more users and nodes. THIS insane pump shows they HAVE ALOT to work on to get this operational.**

I understand they have a new wallet coming out in the coming months.. No official release date.. But months with all these issues come on..

It takes a tremendous amount of time to even log into the wallet Micro transactions are about impossible .. has anyone tried sending 100,000 i from wallet to wallet ... Ridiculous .

And I agree with kaczan3 -- THEY HAVE COMPLETE control over the tangle right now .. All exchanges bitfinex and bianance both are not allowing transactions out or IN of the exchange !!! Which means if you had IOTA in your wallet and wanted to sell at the top .. YOU COULDNT !! Now you wait .....

Some say, ohh just keep it in the exchange.. NA the whole idea of the wallet is to keep it off exchanges in a SAFE place ... But how can you do that when you cant even get it to your wallet.

It seems Iota is running on dialup .. I love the fact when I goto the Iotaseach.ch i get the error 500 page .. EVER TIME - different computers - different networks .....

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

Before my 2 Gi transaction got stuck, I sent a 100 Mi transaction just to check it out and it went through in half an hour. Are they limiting wallets to like 1 transaction a week? How much time before you could send another, Mrsaintor?

I suspect the creators intentionally did this to pum up their price after their shady announcement. They want to distract people from their crappy product that went nowhere in the year that I've been invested in.

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

With Bianance there is a short window frame per day to withdraw your iota but with Bitfinex I never had any issues until now....... No known withdrawal limits, but a size requirement to withdraw from your exchange , which I believe is equal to $20 usd dollars , or something close to that.

Here is the awesome 500 error page on my withdraws while exploring the hash ..

https://iotasear.ch/bundle/PHLBCW9SQE9DWBAGBSMYZ9AHLIZHGHMYQPPVSVS9TEJKHGLGYVUYKRJLCJHW9ICVCAAGHV9TPZDGZLNFZJHZWRUEEY

As far as wallet transactions, I have pry completed 50-60 transactions per wallet this last month per 4-5 different wallets.. Some would take a VERY long time, and quite a few had issues that would require re attaching ... I had LESS then %10 go through without any issues or a prolonged wait on the time period..

So speaking from lots of transactions .. Its been a horrible experience ...

As of lately though this is a completely different story ... Its a load of BS that the tangle works faster with more nodes and people ... Also a complete load that the micro transactions are viable ..

I think there is some merit to your statement about the creators. The announcement was pure speculation of the marketplace. No contracts in place, no written deals, just hype from the creators. Now the Iota coin is worth more then ALOT of the fortune 500 companies ..

With a wallet that is so horrible, and from my understanding... a controlled amount of coin being released by the creator .. How do you put a value on 2,779,530,283,277,761.00 coins ...... ( this is the total amount created, or more like will be released when the creator sees fit.. )

Also from my understanding, wont this marketplace be different then the current tangle ? Meaning the Interent of Things is the framework for companies that will be using a separate tangle .. Correct me if Im wrong, but Microsoft wont use the same IOTA that we trade with .. ?

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

I had one deposit to bitfinex that took TWO WEEKS to transfer 20 mi , and FROZE my wallet until it was confirmed..

It was like sending an HD movie using dialup .....

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

As for Microsoft, I was wondering a similar thing. NEM has a blockchain, but a lot of companies use their own private version of NEM. But there might be some connection there - just like Microsoft has a private network, but also uses the Internet. NEM seems like a much better project. Everything works fast and is transparent.

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

Ya def alot of shady things going on with IOTA .. The boards are filled with pending transaction issues, all over the web ... Not one peep from IOTA dev yet......

** Even if the the transactions have been confirmed . The private use key error is popping up, which means the re attached or the prior confirmed transaction hasnt successfully TRULY been confirmed .. SO ITS STILL ALL broke.. I havent heard from anyone that has had a successful transfer prior to the PRICE RUNUP>> ?????

Microsoft - Its gotta be a separate tangle. The marketplace is using the same tech, but not the same tangle..

Have you seen some of the hash codes for the transfers ,, > something very weird is up, either the tangle is overloaded and came to a halt .. Or someone/something got it ...... def different then normal. And with all the forums ive read.. Its happening all over on all nodes .....

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

What about the hash codes? But I've seen a weird signature that was all 9s (like 99999999999999999999999 etc.)

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

So for sure two separate tangles then ?... Testnet and Mainnet ...

The testnet has nothing whatsoever to do with the Mainnet .. ?

Spam attack .. you mean compromised ?

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

Yep inside the transaction hash - 9's

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

wonky, isnt Iota suppose to be unlimited scaling and faster with more users ?> So someone is intentionally spamming the tangle ?

TY for your input

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

I just hope I can get out of this scamcoin before it drops to a zero.

BTW my transaction also has 99999999. Is it invalid? Should I change something?

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

I believe all Transaction hash's are currently 9.. Withdrawals and receiving .. Nounces are also littered with 9's

Even the recent confirmed transactions (which really arent confirmed - Private use error ) are full of 9's

There is nothing we can do on our side .....

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

What would be the purpose for the "bad" people to spam the network ?

I would say it is doing more then slowing down the tangle, it has halted it completely.... I havent heard of anyone anywhere with a real confirmed transactions since the start of the up run ..

Even if its been confirmed it has the Private use error ..

Doesnt this pose a major threat to the existence of the whole tangle if there are individuals that can spam the infrastructure, which thus makes scaling and faster nodes not possible .. .?

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

If the spammer spams tons of transactions, shouldn't he be confirming all the legitimate transactions? Did he find a way to choose which transactions to confirm and he confirms only his own transactions?

Guys, look int EOS. It has free transaction with antispam mechanism and it has 1 second blocks. It will be the real Internet of Things network.

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

Thanks again for the input wonky.

Sounds like we are up the creek until the next node release ??? I dont see how they can clear the mess up without releasing the new nodes or new wallet ..

IOTA is Totally USELESS as of now ......

omnionix commented 6 years ago

I am new to Iota and have been experiencing the most frustrating and seemingly unanswerable of simplest questions about issues I'm having with the client. I came here after looking all over for answers as to WTH is going on with my Iota wallet and completion of my 2nd ever Iota transaction... It takes a ludicrously long time to get logged into the client (Iota Lite Wallet v 2.5.4) and I've been trying to attach to Tangle for LITERALLY over 24 hours - on all listed nodes and the support node - all for naught... I'm really starting to feel scammed and more than angry and frustrated. I truly wanted to believe in this coin and what the Iota was about - but thus far, I feel like I've been duped out of my hard earned money, become dubious of dealing with any more crypto, and lost complete faith in all things IOTA... At this point I just want to be able to complete the transaction that began 3 days ago get my already paid for coins, and get rid of them ASAP. The fact that the network's performance is a direct contradiction to what the hyped benefits of Tangle were promised to be - and that the developers have said NOTHING for this issue that's OBVIOUSLY been going on for days - just seals the deal that this is not only NOT what it was supposed to be, it's not even a supportable scam by it's creators...

Mrsaintor commented 6 years ago

Yep goto https://iotasear.ch/ and notice how the live transaction count is rolling, but there are NONE of the ZERO latest transactions .....

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

So someone found a way to spam transactions with 0i and to confirm his own transactions only? That's a gigantic flaw in the system, on par with their own crappy hashing function.

kaczan3 commented 6 years ago

My transaction finally went through! Agter more that 48 hours and 25 reattachments! I see in the tangle explorer the tangle is still clogged up and there's no reason for the spammer to stop. But when the problem is solved, the price will probably drop like a rock.

Bodie7 commented 6 years ago

Same for me kaczan. Around two days and about 20-30 reattachments, but finally I was able to sell some IOTA. Rest of them I will hodl.

ScotchWiskey commented 6 years ago

I think these 4 servers are likely the best available. I used the first one from Germany and so happy now. Found advise from Korneto02 and it worked for me and lots of others who could not log in. I was so stressed out and now feel like a million $$$. Try this and post if it works for you. I think it likely will. hey guys it worked for me go to these site https://iotasalad.org/nodes.... use the nodes there and try all of those, go custom the host and change curl implementation to ccurl...it takes a while like 20-30 minutes says logging in, you just have to wait

Is there a way to confirm unconfirmed transactions? Happy to run/operate/connect to nodes etc. but I cannot find any guides/how to's online.

I've got the same issue with this transaction: https://iotasear.ch/hash/CASMTMUTJQPHSXRYZMCFIINSRKHQXAKIHEDRXHDBNWBRNXS9VCMMCTRMXCEZINFKOVQZGDVHMAJZ99999 I've been waiting for over ten hours now. Tried reattaching and rebroadcasting a few times connected to different nodes but no result. All transactions pending.

filippos-lagopoulos commented 6 years ago

I used a node from this list https://iotasalad.org/nodes as suggested by ScotchWiskey, reattached a couple of times and the first reattachment went through (or at least it says confirmed now) in half an hour or so. Thanks for the info.

andrewflatt101 commented 6 years ago

Sorry I am new to this, how do you re attach? Is there a way of forcing the transaction if you don’t own the wallet? (this is Bitfinex transaction)

If you are sending IOTA using the Light wallet you can go to the History tab at the bottom and you should see the pending transfer there if its still pending. Click on "Show bundle" and it will pop another window eventually. There should be a "Reattach" or something button there as well as a "Rebroacast".

It eventually completed one of those transfers for me (after I changed to one of those servers), and I can see the "Completed" status on both bitfinex and on the Light wallet but the balances are still wrong. I still have IOTA on my Light wallet and no IOTA on bitfinex. I sent an email to bitfinex support an hour or so ago so still waiting.

If you are sending from bitfinex to your wallet then I don't think you need to do all that. I did that a few days ago and it went through after an hour or so. So it was much faster than the opposite which is what I'm trying to do now.

omnionix commented 6 years ago

Exactly... Like I said, I've lost a total of 16million Iota. My first purchase of 1 Miota just vanished from my wallet (after taking 6 days to arrive) while waiting for a transfer of 15 Miota - which now is about 20 days in the void... To add insult to injury, I get a couple of their stupid Iota Feed emails daily even though I unsubscribed over a week ago... Friends Shouldn't Let Friends Iota...

On Dec 20, 2017 5:40 PM, "Filippos Lagopoulos" notifications@github.com wrote:

Yeah that's exactly what I see in reality. This is the worst experience I've had with crypto so far. This has so far been about 20 times slower than bitcoin. A bitcoin deposit to bitfinex took about an hour max. An IOTA deposit to bitfinex has taken over 20 hours so far and its still not cleared in bitfinex. Both were done on the same day. Unbelievable. And to add insult to injury you are saying I can potentially lose my investment. Wow. I hope not.

With regards to support, if you go to http://iotasupport.com/ and scroll at the bottom and hit "Contact" you get a 404 error page not found. LOL. Also you cannot even register and start a topic on the forum currently, you have to be "manually approved" by the admins. It does say there that that support is not part of the foundation... I guess it means there is no official IOTA support at all?

This is just very disappointing.
