Hi, @citostyle,

Context:

I attended your presentation during Open Source + mezcal night 🌃 @ GitHub HQ at https://lu.ma/bx120myg

Attached are two photos from the event:

1. hackingBuddyGPT - LLM Agent Framework for Penetration Testing Architecture Privilege Escalation Benchmarks

2. hackingBuddyGPT - LLM Agent Framework for Penetration Testing hackingBuddy.ai

Ask:

My teammates and I would like to work on #36.

Could you reassign — create onboarding/quickstart blog post as well as video #36 — to us as multiple assignees simultaneously?

1. @lloydchang 2.@pardaz-banu 3. @halifrieri

Thank you for considering our ask!

Take care, and we look forward to your response! Lloyd

Hi Lloyd,

I hope it's okay if I take over for Juergen. Thank you for your kind offer (:

I'll assign the github ticket to you, can't add @pardaz-banu and @halifrieri yet, as the github selection dropdown only shows people that have written commits/comments within the project.

You can use https://docs.hackingbuddy.ai/docs/introduction/installation and https://docs.hackingbuddy.ai/docs/dev-guide/dev-quickstart as guidance. We're currently doing a major refactoring of the source code and tooling so the information could be slightly out-of-date. As I hope that we will finish up the refactoring in the next days, I'd suggest that you use the DianaStrauss-main (or development) branch for the onboarding. In case of any question, feel free to ask them in our Discord, typically there are more developers online over there.

Thank you and hope that helps, Andreas

Thanks, @andreashappe, @DianaStrauss and @citostyle!

Great connecting with you here and GitHub HQ's Open Source event.

Take care! 🙂

My teammates @pardaz-banu , @halifrieri , @toluwalopeoolagbegi , and @tushcmd are starting to consider this. We've had competing priorities previously.

andreashappe commented 2 months ago

nice! we just released 0.3.1 which you could use for this (; I'd like to add this to the next milestone (which will happen in the next 2-3 months, but no problem if you don't have enough time for that till then)

lloydchang commented 2 months ago

Relates to https://github.com/ipa-lab/docs.hackingbuddy/pull/5 and https://github.com/ipa-lab/hackingBuddyGPT/pull/85 plus https://github.com/ipa-lab/benchmark-privesc-linux/pull/1 then https://github.com/ipa-lab/benchmark-privesc-linux/pull/2

lloydchang commented 2 months ago

@andreashappe If you have time early this week, please review https://github.com/ipa-lab/docs.hackingbuddy/pull/5 and https://github.com/ipa-lab/hackingBuddyGPT/pull/85

My team aims to have at least one pull request accepted by Wednesday (September 3rd) related to https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7235806786572673024/

Thank you!

Before we proceed with https://github.com/ipa-lab/hackingBuddyGPT/issues/36 — it would be helpful to first review, accept, and merge https://github.com/ipa-lab/benchmark-privesc-linux/pull/2 — Thank you!

My team uses different operating systems—Windows & Mac—than other open-source contributors and teams that use Linux, so we adapted accordingly.

Understanding the significance of effective communication and collaboration, we have discovered that GitHub Codespaces's Linux setup is optimal for my team's members to work together, particularly given our varying Windows & Mac computer setups.

We won't be able to meet the October 21st deadline for the 0.4 milestone. Our team is smaller (after our fellowship ended), and we each have competing priorities. I've read the Discord discussion linked here and will keep it in mind as we move forward. Thank you!
