@dietrich Good call. And does anyone say "Darwin" in the field any more?
We should probably just consistently use the current name, macOS. Anyone who knows what "Darwin" means will likely know what "macOS" means.
The biggest culprit in this is the main distros page https://dist.ipfs.io -- as described in https://github.com/ipfs/distributions/issues/235 -- but I've put in a request to @Stebalien and @dignifiedquire to follow up on that front.
Searched code in both website and docs repos for "darwin", "mac", "osx" and "os x" and standardized to "macOS" accordingly; see https://github.com/ipfs/website/pull/341 and https://github.com/ipfs/docs/pull/280 , which I'll merge. Still want to get the distros page fixed before closing this issue, though ... marking as blocked in the interim.
https://github.com/ipfs/distributions/issues/235 closed and fixes the distros page, so closing this issue. Thanks all!
"But the inconsistencies remain: macOS is referred to as darwin in one place, OS X in another, Mac OS X in another." - https://macwright.org/2019/06/08/ipfs-again.html
Let's start with a search through the docs and website repos, and fix references for consistency.
