Washington, DC IPFS #60

Open dysbulic opened 9 years ago

dysbulic commented 9 years ago

I'm interested in organizing an IPFS Meetup in Washington, DC.

My comprehension of the program structure is not to the point I'd likely be effective trying to lead a discussion, so I'm currently hunting for collaborators.

I beleive that @rschulman is in that area (i think?) and not to volunteer him or anything, I think that he has a decent understanding of the basics of the system.

I am! I'd be happy to help collaborate!

HacDC can host a meet-up for sure.

@rschulman @dysbulic what would you guys want to cover/accomplish?

jbenet commented 9 years ago

Depending on when it is, i may be able to come down for one, too.

I think HacDC would be perfect.

I think we'd love to cover the basics of what problems IPFS solves and some info on how the protocol works, including the merkleDAG, the blocks system, etc. Then perhaps some demo, including of some of the cool apps that have been built on top of IPFS.

Fwiw We just had a really good meetup in SF that was all demos (everyone present was already familiar enough).

@rschulman, @dysbulic - Is anyone here still in DC and interested in helping organize the DC ProtoSchool chapter?
