It would be nice to have an API access for the following:

list download in progress and their state (dht request, download, ..)
list the files included in a download request
find out if a past download is completed
download progress (global percentage),
raw block state (downloading, waiting for download, done, unavailable on the network...)

@Dignifiedquire is also looking for some of these stats for the webui
