to stark-labs-ast.

I am wondering why PHD 2 does not have a Lost Star function? It seems to me
that if I have been tracking a star for upwards of 10 minutes, that data for
the move rates could be saved and averaged, and perhaps updated every 10
minutes (keeping the file size managable).

This would give a good indication of the moves required if the star is lost due
to a cloud or other loss of SNR.

Could the software then have a selectable option to continue guiding with this
"average move rate" upon Star loss of (X) number of acquisition tries?

Once the star is reaquired, PHD would resume it's "normal" tracking sequence.

Is this request way out there? I don't program for a living, but this "seems"
pretty straight forward.

Comments?

Keep your eyes to the Skys!!!
Monte
