As a N5550 owner and proud SL user, I've been planning to put SL on my N5550 for a while, but was wondering a bit more about what all you've got going on here....

Perhaps under the Wiki provided by github?

I just added a "QuickStart" for CentOS 7 to the wiki. It should work for SL, although you probably will need to use the CentOS Plus kernel,

Please let me know if it works for you.

On terribly minor point and a question:

First, the README says el6, but the wiki is el7. I'm only really interested in 7, but it seems the text is out of sync.

Does the Elrepo kernel-ml (http://elrepo.org/tiki/kernel-ml) work with your module?

I'll look into archiving my NAS to get switched over and try this out. That may take a bit....

The README needs to be updated. I haven't had EL6 on my N5550 since shortly after EL7 was released, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if the current RPM packaging doesn't work on EL6.

Are you asking about kernel-ml on EL6 or EL7? On EL6, kernel-ml or kernel-lt from ELRepo should work. (In fact they're required, because the base EL6 kernel is too old.) On EL7 I recommend using the CentOS Plus kernel; you can try kernel-ml, but I'm not sure if it has all of the required drivers turned on.
