While this is not the correct section for this channel (which comes from Tahiti, at a certain extent I'll accept it since it's a French colony), I'll answer you directly here.

This website contains a bit of a weird way of getting the streams (by a server that accepts a certain MIME type followed by a token, then sends another one back ???). I had a 400 Bad Request when trying, saying that there's no source data. Either it's a Non 24/7 channel, either they don't stream a lot in their website.

Having this channel in my ISP television set, I can say that it streams right now...

Indeed, stream is not 24/24. Stream is only between 5pm and 7pm in Tahiti time, that is 17h and 19h France time

There's a 24/7 version of TNTV, but it's not streamed online, it's given for ISPs only it seems.

Those are all official links for channels I haven't found in the database. I have been monitoring some of them for a few weeks, they should be relatively stable, but some are also likely georestricted.

How do token protections work exactly? I can stream it with mpv like the others, this is the only test I did.

I checked channels.json and did not see any of those channels, maybe they are in fr.m3u but are not in channels.json somehow? [Edit: I don't see them in fr.m3u either.]

I don't understand why I can't find those in master, neither by name nor by url. To be honest I usually only use channels.json but it was my understanding that it was a compilation of all the streams, and here I checked fr.m3u too before posting. Maybe I didn't check the right branch?

For France 2, have you tried mpv https://www.france.tv/france-2/direct.html? It works immediately for me. VLC fails though, but that shows this URL can be streamed without a browser.

Would it not be worth adding the stream for those who use mpv? For Linux and Mac users, this would certainly be a significant proportion of users. It may not work for those who use other players, but there are also many streams that fail in the list due to georestrictions anyway.

I can see Franceinfo in your last PR but I still can't find the other channels either in fr.m3u or channels.json (I know it'll only be updated tonight but you said the channels are already listed). Could you please tell me the line numbers? I tried searching by channel name and by using the urls you pasted above, no dice.

Well, since we rely on links only, we cannot add workaround for specific players, that would be somehow a useless addition.

I've tried MPV and it doesn"t work for me.

I know we cannot add player-specific workarounds, but there are already hundreds of links that can't work for every user (mainly georestricted links, or expired links until feedback shows that they don't work anymore), so users of iptv-org/iptv probably don't expect all links to work on their end, that doesn't mean the links are not valid. I certainly don't. mpv is not only pre-installed on most Linux distributions, but it's also the preferred player for a portion of users or even the go-to player of IPTV programs that use iptv-org/iptv (like https://github.com/Roshan-R/termv for instance), so a link for a major national channel working out of the box with it would useful already. I don't mean to force the decision, just exposing my opinion in case you'd find it relevant.

For other channels and urls you listed, I'm admit I am clueless as to why I can't see them in master. Are they on that branch on your end?

Maybe it works on the Linux versions but doesn't on Windows ones, or maybe there's a script that I needed to launch to make it work I don't know.

Everyone's ideas are relevant when it comes to adding channels, in this case that addition would concern a few people only, unless MPV can spit links "a la" Streamlink, it won't be very useful to do a "case-by-case" scenario.

As for the channels not being in the playlists, it's normal, they're usually added over night by our bot.

It failed on Windows because you didn't have youtube-dl.exe in the same folder as mpv.exe, works otherwise:

youtube-dl has a huge userbase, presumably including many IPTV users since it can download and also hook to players (like mpv which supports it out of the box) to stream from many domains (not only Youtube, see list here). With UNIX systems alone, I don't think that would be just few people, but there are Windows users depending on it for its flexibility too.

As for the channels not being in the playlists, it's normal, they're usually added over night by our bot.

I know but you said Public Sénat, LCP and La Chaîne L'Équipe were already added as far as you knew. Or did I misunderstood and you just committed them today?
