toc 2: turn off auto-expand after running cell #1472

I have toc2 enabled and numerous sections and subsections in a notebook. I have collapsed all of the sections in the table of contents but every time I run a cell, the table of contents auto-expands all of my sections. Is there a way to disable this behavior?
