Docs update: Salt package is not a git repo #2

Apparently the local directory of a salt package is not a git repository.

I've surmised that the package version number needs bumping, but I could not find exact specification about the how.

We will add documentation about the version number here soon :)

For now, please rebase this on top of main, and increment the version number to 3.1.2. After that, I will accept
