Project Admins are 'Missing in Action' #18

Despite posting several Issues/Patches and attempting to contact the
developers with email, I have not been able to make contact.

I hope that they are just on a Caribbian Cruse rather than having been
abducted by aliens, but how long does/should one have to wait....?

I note that it is perfectly legal to fork this project (as it's GPL V3),
but I would prefer to work with the developers and keep some consistancy
with their vision.

Still no word.

Is there anyone here who is interested in forking the project so that we can
import
the mod so far suggested?

Or is there a proceedure within Google Code for adopting an abandoned project?

I looked at this project and decided to start a new project of my own,
available at
<https://launchpad.net/python-v4l2-capture>. It's a native Python module written
completely in C, with no ctype sit-ups. You can check out the code with Bazaar
or
browse it online at
<http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~rheo/python-v4l2-capture/trunk/changes>. With
Bazaar
anyone can create a branch and commit changes.

I have uploaded my own variant of this code over at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydmscanner/

My app is a barcode scanner, but demonstrates how to grabe video with python
and has
significant number of bug fixes over this 'dead' project.
