Feature Request
1) I would like installable binaries for different operating systems.
2) file and folder sharing/sending option is a must have option.
3) for pc operating system(win, linux & mac), start at boot up would be great.
4) though kouchat project is good, i would suggest to work on some developed 
old open source messenger lan messengers. like this lan messenger

this is just great and works great in windows. linux version is not updated so 
it is not installing. & work in mobile version can be made by you.

My requirement is cross platform lan messenger with sufficient features like 
file, folder sharing.

another good project is dukto

but it doesn't let u change username in pc version which creates problem when 
there are many users.

1) I'll look into it at some point.
2) File sending is already there. I agree that some way to send multiple files 
easier is a good idea.
3) You can make KouChat start on boot manually. The process is different for 
every OS, but on Windows you can just put a shortcut in the startup folder. If 
you try the development version you can start KouChat minimized.
4) KouChat predates both of the projects you reference, and is a hobby of mine. 
I'm going to continue to spend my time on KouChat.
