On the first question: yes, it should be plant_storage_nodeA_fix. The snapshot includes only the new parameters as there are too many parameters to show all in the snapshot. (The inflow is changed to 0 if closed system). On the how to as a whole: It should probably include the hydro system and be more consistent. Bigger issue is that this example and the basic hydro plant example have the storage as energy, but it might be more common to have it as volume (cubic meters) and have the conversion to energy in the units. This is especially true in multiple reservoir river systems.
In the How to create a hydro pump storage, is there possibly a mistake in the instructions: is it correct that when adding constraint pump_storage_nodeA_fix the map parameters for the unit_inputNode have to be plant_storage_nodeA_split and not pump_storage_nodeA_fix?
Also the instructions are a little bit incomprehensive/confusing, especially regarding the reservoir parameters, if one is not building the PHS system on top of the previous hydro_reservoir example (do I have to add all the parameters for the reservoir that are in the previous example, since in the PHS object snapshot it only shows one parameter for the reservoir (inflow)?).
