What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start My Tracks
2. Start Recording
3.

What is the expected output?
My Tracks should start recording; map should zoom in to current location.

What do you see instead?
Recording starts; map does not zoom in to current locations; "Waiting for GPS
signal." msg appears in upper left of map. After stopping recording, saving
file and opening file it can be seen that no data was recorded.

What version of MyTracks are you using? 2.05
On what version of Android? 4.3
On what phone? Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon)

Please provide any additional information here:
No GPS icon in status bar.
GPS service is ON.
Other apps (Google Maps/Mapquest/GPS Essentials/GPS Test/GPS Status) initiate
and use GPS OK. My Tracks is the only app that fails to utilized GPS.
Problem appeared after updating to Android 4.3. No other changes to the phone
software/hardware.
==> Prior to Android upgrade, My Tracks functioned perfectly on my phone for
the several months I have had it installed (since July 2013). Best app of its
type and it's a great disappointment that it is no longer functional.

This issue renders the app unusable. Request High priority status.

Can you make sure you have the latest version of Google Play services. My
Tracks invokes the Location Manager in Google Play services to start/stop gps.
Since no gps icon is shown on the status bar, it seems something is wrong with
Google Play services.

Make sure you have Google Play services version v4.0.33.

Thanks

Check to make sure privacy guard is not active for Google play services. That
was my problem

Thanks. I figured that out my own. I use Xprivacy although I don't know which
specific item was affected.

I'm seeing this issue with 2.0.7 on my HTC One M8 (Sprint) running Android 4.4.3
As far as I can tell I do not have "Privacy Guard", so I don't even know how to
"check ... [that it] is not active"

I *DO* see a GPS Icon in the notifications section, but even after an hour of
walking outside it still never finds anything.

I've got the same problem. LG G2, privacy guard is not active. I've gotten it
to track a few times but usually it doesn't work.
